About the Author

The Heart Behind the Words

Magda is a former regulator, consultant, executive, and startup CXO whose career path has been anything but linear. She's mentored young professionals for years.


With a degree in environmental geology and an MBA, she’s worked across sectors and continents - often stepping into new roles before she felt completely ready. 


From government halls to corporate boardrooms, and now in the fast-paced world of start-ups, her work has always centered on navigating change, solving complex problems, and helping others do the same.   


Born in Poland, raised in the U.S., and now splitting her time between Italy and Poland, Magda brings a global perspective to how we think about work, our professional identity and personal growth.    

About the Book

This Isn’t the Plan (And That’s the Point) is Magda's first book, inspired by her own children who are facing the pressures of picking colleges and imagining futures that haven’t happened yet. 


Her goal? To help them - and a lot of other people - trust the process, embrace the uncertainty, and realize that careers are built, not chosen. She writes for the ones still sorting it out.

About Luigi

The hand-drawn, single-panel comics were brought to life by Milan-based artist Luigi Segre. 


Luigi’s digital illustrations bring light-hearted humor to everyday scenes, turning small moments into expressive visuals that make you pause, smile, and keep turning the page.

His ability to blend humor, expression, and atmosphere adds a rich visual layer that deepens the reading experience.


Luigi is a freelance cartoonist and illustrator who has partnered with leading creative agencies, advertising firms, newspapers, and editorial houses across Europe. Whether he’s sketching quick gags, crafting character designs, or storyboarding big ideas, his curious gaze and spontaneous wit shine through in every line.
